Tiffany’s story

August 24, 2018

Our children’s programs are designed to help kids with low or no vision to explore the world safely.

For 10 year old Tiffany, these programs have helped her to gain more confidence and independence. “My favourite part about Guide Dogs is not only the kind staff but also how they have helped me learn how to use public transport safely, and now I have the confidence to do it myself,” Tiffany said.

Tiffany’s mum Patricia has loved watching her confidence grow.

“It’s been great to see Tiffany’s confidence and independence grow in learning how to plan and use public transport.”

She has also really enjoyed her Orientation and Mobility lessons. It’s fantastic for her to get to know other children her age who are going through similar situations, and for me to get to know the other parents,” Patricia said.

These programs give kids and teens the chance to develop their confidence and independence in a safe, supportive and enjoyable environment.

Not only do they help kids and teens to develop important skills, they’re also a great opportunity to meet new people and build friendships. If you would like to find out more about our programs for children, please click here.
