Celebrating Our Graduates: 2025 Graduation Event
On Monday, 28 April, we proudly celebrated the achievements of our graduating clients at the 2025 Graduation Ceremony, held at the Lighthouse Bridgeman Downs Church. It was a day filled with pride, inspiration, and a deep sense of community.
This special occasion honoured clients who completed their training with either a Guide Dog or a Long Cane – remarkable milestones on their journey toward greater independence and confidence. These graduates were recognised for their hard work and perseverance, and we were thrilled to celebrate alongside them.
We were honoured to welcome Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young, Governor of Queensland, who presented certificates to our graduates in recognition of their achievements.
Adding to the significance of the day, we were inspired by guest speaker Caitlin, who shared her story and experiences using a Braille device – offering a powerful reminder of the diverse paths to independence. We had the wonderful Brent, and his Guide Dog Jaycee bring energy and warmth as the event’s engaging emcee. Australian swimming champion Shayna Jack also joined us to celebrate our graduates and show her support.
A visit from one of our adorable puppies-in-training added a touch of fun and delight to the event, and following the formalities, guests enjoyed a delicious lunch and time to connect. Of course, we captured the day with plenty of photos to remember this meaningful celebration.

Your dedication, courage, and determination have brought you to this important milestone, and we couldn’t be prouder. It has been a privilege to walk alongside you on your journey to greater independence. This graduation is not just the end of a chapter – it’s the beginning of new possibilities, new goals, and a future full of promise.
