Shayna Jack Named First Celebrity Ambassador for Guide Dogs Queensland
At just 25, Australian swimmer Shayna Jack had already made waves on the world stage, and now she’s diving into a new role, one that’s close to her heart. Guide Dogs Queensland is proud to welcome Shayna as our first Celebrity Ambassador.
Known for her strength, determination, and unwavering commitment to her goals, Shayna brings a powerful presence to her new partnership. As someone who thrives with the support of a dedicated team, Shayna was drawn to Guide Dogs Queensland’s mission to empower people with low vision or blindness to live independently and confidently.
“As an athlete, I know the power of having the right support team, and for Queenslanders with low vision or blindness, Guide Dogs Queensland is exactly that,” Shayna said.
Her connection to the cause goes beyond admiration. Shayna has witnessed firsthand the resilience of individuals navigating life with vision loss, and the incredible difference a Guide Dog can make. Combined with her love of dogs and passion for helping others, this made joining the Guide Dogs Queensland family an easy choice.
For more than 65 years, Guide Dogs Queensland has been supporting people across the state through every stage of their low vision or blindness journey. While our iconic dogs are at the heart of what we do, our work also includes a wide range of services, from orientation and mobility training to occupational therapy, mental health support, assistive technology, and specialist programs for children and teens.
No two journeys are the same, and that’s why personalised support is at the core of everything we offer. With 85 per cent of our funding coming from the community, we rely on partnerships and public support to continue delivering life-changing services across Queensland.
As our first Celebrity Ambassador, Shayna will help shine a light on the challenges faced by those with low vision or blindness, and the power of tailored services to promote independence, mobility and inclusion.
“I’m proud to stand with Guide Dogs Queensland, helping people with low vision or blindness reach their goals, just like I chase mine in the pool,” she said.
