Henry’s striding ahead
Henry has spent his entire life striving to be the best version of himself.
“I have been completely blind since birth, and I also have a moderate hearing impairment as well,” Henry said.
“The ability to get myself out and about independently and safely is essential to living life to the fullest and being successful. None of this has happened by itself and I have been very lucky to have had a lot of support from Guide Dogs organisations.”
Henry was taught to use a white cane to get around at school and when the time came, University.
Determined to be successful, Henry had his heart set on moving interstate to study law in Melbourne. With a Guide Dog by his side, he completed his law degree and moved to Queensland where he accepted an offer to join the coveted Law Graduate Program at Suncorp.
Henry’s colleagues at Suncorp have banded together to start a fundraising initiative inspired by his connection with Guide Dogs, setting themselves the challenge to run Bridge to Brisbane alongside him. The team hope to raise a collective $15,000 to support Guide Dogs Queensland and are well on their way to reaching their target.
We’re sure this will be a phenomenal success all round.
All the best, Henry!
