John Farrell’s legacy lives on

February 27, 2020

John Farrell has been instrumental in many projects at Guide Dogs Queensland and because of a gift in his Will, John’s legacy continues to change the lives of Queenslanders who are blind or vision impaired.

John was a loyal supporter of Guide Dogs Queensland for more than 14 years before he sadly passed away in October, 2018.

Senior Philanthropy Manager Michelle Hillman said John gave generously to the renovation of the Nursery as well as the ongoing training of puppies to become life changing Guide Dogs.

“One of my favourite memories of John was the time he toured the Breeding Centre just six months before his passing. He enjoyed meeting Veterinarian Dr Dion Humbler and meeting some of the puppies he had helped in their journey,” Michelle said.

A far-sighted gift from John in his Will is allowing more puppies to become Guide Dogs for people who are blind or vision impaired. John’s name will be one of the many placed on the Memorial Garden as we celebrate our 60th anniversary throughout 2020.

Leaving a gift in your Will to Guide Dogs is not only very easy to do, it is also a wonderful legacy that you and your loved ones will always treasure. To receive a free information kit, please call Michelle Hillman on 07 3500 9016.
