Brisbane’s Bus Routes are changing

June 19, 2025

What you need to know

You’ve probably heard Brisbane City Council are introducing changes to bus routes across the network with a new timetable taking effect from Monday June 30.

We understand change can be unsettling, especially for those navigating the city’s public transport system with low vision or blindness.

The good news is there is lots of information online to help you plan your journey, a dedicated hotline you can call for support, plus additional staff on the ground at key locations across the city to help get you on your way.

What is changing?

A new, full timetable has been released which you can access on the Translink website: Brisbane’s New Bus Network | Translink.

With around 70% of bus journeys changing, now is the time to check your new journey for:

  • Introduced transfers (mainly taking place in Brisbane’s south side)
  • Changes to routes, bus stops and timetables
  • Different bus numbers

How do I prepare for these changes?

  1. Visit the Brisbane’s New Bus Network web page– here you can check for changes by searching your usual bus route number. This website is accessible to screen readers.
  2. On the same website you will find a Journey Planner– here you can enter your start location and an end location, day and time, and it will help you plan your new journey.

Where can I go for help?

If you would prefer to speak to someone to help plan your journey, call the Brisbane Metro Hotline on 1800 692 333. This Hotline is available from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Alternatively, Translink are available 24 hours a day on 13 12 30 and can also help.

Additional staff at platforms and transfer locations

Brisbane City Council will have extra staff on hand at bus platforms and transfer locations to help people navigate the changes.

Guide Dogs Queensland are working with Council to ensure their team are aware of any additional support needed by those navigating the public transport system with a Guide Dog or long cane.
