Michelle’s life-changing companion

February 04, 2016

Not all dogs are destined to become Guide Dogs, but that doesn’t mean they can’t change lives in different ways.

‘Wilfred’ was placed as a Companion Dog last year with Michelle. Even with the loving care of her husband and fantastic team of support workers, Michelle rarely smiled and found little happiness in the world after suffering from a series of strokes eight years ago.

Michelle is a different lady since she met ‘Wilfred’. She is always smiling with ‘Wilfred’ by her side, is happy to be home by herself and no longer needs to take medication to deal with the anxieties she previously suffered from.

Michelle attends to her best friend ‘Wilfred’s’ every need and in return he is never far from her side. Michelle has a whole new focus in life – it is amazing what a difference a wagging tail and a wet nose has made!
