Twilight Run to set tails wagging

February 16, 2018

There’ll be paws a-plenty pounding the pavement at UQ’s Twilight Running Festival in April, with Guide Dogs Queensland named as this year’s official charity partner.

To celebrate the paw-tnership, paw-ticipants are being encouraged to put their best paw forward by bringing along their own pet dogs to take part.

Guide Dogs Queensland CEO Michael Kightley said he was excited to see the turnout of dogs in support of their working counterparts.

“I’m calling on all Brisbane dog owners to grab their shoes, their leash and bring their faithful friend to be part of this really fun event,” Mr Kightley said.

“What a great way to get some exercise, meet some friends and enjoy the event in the cool of the twilight while helping raise money for a great cause.

“Everyone who finishes the race will feel extra accomplished knowing every dollar raised along the way will be helping Queenslanders who are blind or have low vision in every step of their journey to freedom and independence.

“We are very proud to have been named the charity partner of such an enjoyable event.”

Twilight Running Festival representative Ricky Swindale said they are excited to share a paw-tnership with Guide Dogs Queensland in 2018.

“We have seen a few of our four legged friends toe the line in previous years, so we are keen to see how many more we can get out under the moon and stars,” Mr Swindale said.

“As it’s our 10th anniversary, we are looking to raise as much money as possible to help blind and vision impaired Queenslanders. Every entry counts, so grab your fur child and head down for a night of smiles.”

The Twilight Run will be held on Sunday, 22 April 2018. Registrations are now open at www.twilightrun.com.au, with your support going towards helping Queenslanders with low or no vision for the long run.
