Lifestyle and Leisure Classes

February 19, 2019

Last year we reached out to our community to see what programs and services they would like to see at Guide Dogs Queensland.

From that feedback we have developed and introduced a new set of Lifestyle and Leisure programs.

With classes on cooking, art and self-defence, this program is aimed at helping Queenslanders with low or no vision to build their confidence, meet new people and achieve their personal goals.

The self-defence class will be the first to launch at the beginning of March and is aimed at arming people with the skills they need to feel safer while out in the community. These classes will run weekly on Saturdays for a six week period.

The second program also beginning at the start of March is a cooking class which will focus on building skills to promote confidence and independence in the kitchen. These will run weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays for a six week period.

If you would like to join in but aren’t sure about your availability in the coming months, be sure to get in touch as we’ll be running these programs regularly throughout the year.
