Celebrating Disability Action Week
From 24 November to 1 December, Guide Dogs Queensland is proud to celebrate Disability Action Week with this year’s theme, Accessible Communication: Connect, Include, Empower. This theme aligns with our ongoing efforts to ensure individuals with low vision or blindness have the tools and support needed to fully engage and thrive in their communities.
We’ve been actively advocating for accessible communication, educating the broader community—including local businesses—on how to improve their communication practices. To further support this initiative, we recently hosted a workshop to promote accessible communication strategies. In addition, we’ve created a new Accessible Communication Booklet to provide practical guidance for making communications more inclusive.
