Location
Guide Dogs Queensland, Gympie Road, Bald Hills QLD, Australia

About the event

If you are a parent of a child with low or no vision or are a carer for someone with low or no vision, Guide Dogs invite you to our Carers Seminar to be held on-site at our Bald Hills campus on Friday 13 October 2023.

Queensland Mental Health Week (QMHW) is an annual community wellbeing awareness week held 7 to 15 October and coincides with World Mental Health Day celebrated on 10 October.

This year Guide Dogs is hosting a special seminar focusing on helping carers understand the psycho-social impact of vision loss so they can better understand what the person who they are caring for is going through. The seminar will also discuss the importance of self-care and personal wellbeing.

Our psychology team are hosting two seminar sessions, both including lunch so participants from either session have an opportunity to meet and network.

  • Seminar 1: for parents of children with low or no vision

10am to 12pm (includes lunch from 12pm to 1pm)

  • Seminar 2: for carers of people with low or no vision

1pm to 3pm (includes lunch from 12pm to 1pm)

Seats are limited, so if you are interested in attending one or both sessions, please RSVP by Friday 6 October by emailing clients@guidedogsqld.com.au or give our friendly team a call on 3500 9060.
