The Guide Dogs Queensland Board is responsible for overseeing our strategic direction, governance and organisational performance.

Working side-by-side

The Guide Dogs Queensland Board has between five to nine directors who are all hardworking, caring, and passionate about the Guide Dogs’ cause.

The Board is responsible for overseeing our strategic direction, governance and organisational performance.

Our Executive Team is comprised of key positions responsible for implementing the direction set by the Board. The team ensures performance goals are met and that our work and programs are undertaken efficiently, effectively and sustainably.

President

Mr Richard Anderson, OAM, joined the Board of Guide Dogs Queensland in August 1980 and has served as President since 1990.

Richard is also a member of the Board of Guide Dogs Australia.

During the last three years Richard served on the board of Lindsay Australia Limited, an ASX listed company; he retired from that position on 31 August 2021. Richard was on the board of Data #3 Limited from 1997 and Chair from 2000 to 2023.

Formerly a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), Richard was the firm’s Managing Partner in Queensland and a member of the firm’s National Committee.

He has also been a member of the Board of Trustees of Brisbane Grammar School and the Capital Markets Board of Queensland Treasury Corporation and a member of the Board of Namoi Cotton Limited.

Vice President

Ms Leanne Muller joined the Board as a Director in April 2005 and serves as Vice President and Chair of the Board and as a member of GDQ’s Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee.

Leanne is a Chartered Accountant and experienced senior finance executive having held Chief Financial Officer (CFO) (or equivalent) roles within Energex Limited (1998-2006), Uniting Care Queensland (2006-2007) and RACQ Group (2008-2014).

Leanne also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers (in both Brisbane and Papua New Guinea) and with the Australian Securities Commission.

In addition to her role with Guide Dogs, she serves as a non-executive director of Data #3 Limited and Sugar Terminals Limited.

Mr David Swain joined the Board in February 2019 and is a member of the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee of the Board, and the Client Services Liaison Committee.

David is a strong advocate for creating inclusive communities where each person has a fair opportunity of reaching their potential.

With experience gained across health and social services, military and regulatory environments, combined with over a decade of governance and executive leadership roles, David is able to navigate the worlds of public policy, strategic leadership and operations.

Mr Drewe Jackson joined the Board in August 2016, becoming Chairman of the Investment Committee of the board in December 2018.

Drewe has been involved in capital markets and investment for 30 years, including more than 10 years as a portfolio manager in London with Cazenove Capital and Herald Investment Management.

Drewe is currently the Head of Group Investment for the RACQ Group. He is also a director of TicketMates Pty Limited.

Mr Tom du Preez joined the Board on 2 September 2020 and was appointed Chair of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee in March 2021.

Tom is a Chartered Accountant and Management Accountant with extensive local and international experience as an auditor and advisor of small and large international and listed companies in a variety of industries.

Tom has been a Partner with EY Brisbane since 2011, and prior to this was a Director with PriceWaterhouseCoopers for 3 years.

Tom was also Chairman of the Board for the Australian and New Zealand region for CIMA (The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) for 2 years up until 2018.

In addition to his role with Guide Dogs, he also serves as a member of the Finance Audit and Risk Committee of the Queensland Museum Network.

Ms Lydia Daly joined the Board on 23 September 2021 and is a member of the Board’s Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee.

Lydia is an experienced workplace lawyer and has worked with not-for-profit organisations, Queensland State government agencies and local councils providing legal solutions for over 20 years.

Lydia is a Partner at McCullough Robertson Lawyers and is also on the Management Committee of the Industrial Relations Society of Queensland.

Chief Executive Officer

Jock is an experienced for-purpose executive with over 30 years of impactful leadership across diverse not-for-profit organisations and causes. His career spans both the USA and Australia, with experience in the health, environment, education, and disability sectors.

Jock’s passion lies in leading and developing people and organisations to higher levels of performance, enabling them to better achieve their mission. He specialises in the development and execution of transformative fundraising and growth strategies.

Jock excels in fostering collaboration and driving meaningful change through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and executive coaching. His appointment as Guide Dogs Queensland CEO follows six years of demonstrated leadership as the General Manager for Community Engagement.

Under Jock’s leadership, Guide Dogs Queensland continues to innovate and expand its services, empowering Queenslanders living with low vision or blindness to achieve independence, inclusion and wellbeing. Jock is committed to ensuring Guide Dogs Queensland evolves in order to meet the challenges of the future, while remaining focused on delivering services across the holistic client journey today, including being home to one of the leading Guide Dog breeding and training programs in the world.

General Manager, Community Engagement

Kerry is a seasoned for-purpose leader with more than 30 years of experience in community engagement, philanthropy, fundraising, marketing, events, and volunteer management across both Australia and the UK. She brings a deep commitment to empowering individuals with low vision or blindness through meaningful connections, innovative community programs, and purpose-driven fundraising.

Kerry currently serves as the General Manager of Community Engagement at Guide Dogs Queensland, where she leads a dedicated team in fostering relationships, growing community awareness, and advocating for the needs of clients. Her leadership has been instrumental in strengthening partnerships that align with the organisation’s mission of promoting independence, inclusion, and wellbeing.

Her career began in the UK with leading organisations such as the NSPCC and Compassion in World Farming, before continuing in Australia with notable roles at the RSPCA, University of Queensland, Dementia Australia, ACT for Kids, and the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation. Prior to her current role, she served as Philanthropy Manager for Major Gifts and Foundations at Guide Dogs Queensland for five years.

Kerry holds the globally recognised Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential and was named a Fellow of the Fundraising Institute Australia in 2022, acknowledging her longstanding contribution to the sector. With a passion for community connection and lasting impact, Kerry continues to drive change and deliver results that improve lives across Queensland.

General Manager, Impact

Greg is a visionary leader with a diverse career in international development, social innovation, and public-private sector collaboration. His work has consistently focused on harnessing the power of technology, education, and strategic partnerships to drive long-term social change across local and global communities.

With a background spanning international trade negotiations, communications, and nonprofit leadership, Greg brings a rare and valuable blend of experience across the corporate, government, and social impact sectors. He has been a driving force in integrating mobile technology into social development, playing a key role in the launch of UNESCO’s Digital Learning Week and delivering transformative solutions to education and health challenges throughout the southern hemisphere.

Greg is deeply committed to improving access to essential services for culturally diverse communities and families in regional and remote areas. He is a passionate advocate for equity and inclusion, and his leadership continues to be informed by a belief in the power of connection, innovation, and grassroots impact.

Outside of his professional roles, Greg gives back as a mentor and volunteer in his local community, supporting young people and sporting organisations. Proudly Queensland-based, Greg’s dedication to building a more inclusive future underpins his ongoing contributions to the work of Guide Dogs Queensland.

General Manager, Corporate Services

Amanda is a strategic and values-driven executive with extensive experience in healthcare, education, and the not-for-profit sector. As General Manager of Corporate Services at Guide Dogs Queensland, she leads a high-performing team focused on operational excellence, strategic alignment, and strong governance across the organisation.

Amanda’s career is built on a foundation of analytical thinking, financial acumen, and a commitment to organisational improvement. Her leadership bridges strategy and operations, enabling Guide Dogs Queensland to deliver impactful services while fostering a culture of business partnership and innovation. Amanda holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and is a certified Prosci® Change Management Practitioner—credentials that support her expertise in navigating complex organisational change.

Prior to joining Guide Dogs Queensland, Amanda was Executive Director of Business Services at the Northern Queensland Primary Health Network, where she played a key role in transforming service delivery and improving regional health outcomes. She currently serves as a Board Member of the Rural Doctors Foundation, lending her governance and financial expertise to strengthen healthcare in remote communities.

Originally from Rockhampton, Amanda now resides on the Gold Coast and remains passionate about improving health equity in rural and remote regions. Her leadership is grounded in the belief that every person, regardless of location, deserves access to quality services and strong community support.
