Want an exciting adventure next school holidays?

We’re excited to invite your child to our upcoming 2026 Holiday Mobility Camps, an Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) program designed to empower young people with the skills, confidence, and independence they need to navigate the world around them.

Through fun, adventure, travelling, hands-on activities and expert guidance, your child will gain valuable mobility tools that will support their growth and development. This includes foundational skills that young people can use for daily life and to become truly independent.

Not only that, but they’ll get the chance to meet new friends from across Queensland while they travel to places they haven’t been before.

Places are limited, so if you’d like to join the waitlist, please complete your expression of interest via the form below and email it to clients@guidedogsqld.com.au.

There is a $300 cost per student, which includes all activities, meals, and accommodation.
For regional participants, this cost may also cover flights to Brisbane. Please note that travel assistance is only available for those living a significant distance away and not within reasonable driving distance, such as Toowoomba.

About our Mobility Camps

Our Holiday Mobility Camps are designed to build confidence, independence, and essential life skills for children and young people who are blind or have low vision. Developed by specialists in the field, each camp is grounded in the nine key areas of the Expanded Core Curriculum, ensuring every activity has purpose, relevance, and real‑world impact.

  1. Orientation and Mobility: Practical strategies and equipment that support safe, confident, and independent travel.
  2. Visual Efficiency Skills: Techniques for using all available senses to participate effectively in daily activities.
  3. Social Interaction Skills: Tools for building relationships and communicating without relying on visual cues.
  4. Independent Living Skills: Hands‑on experience with everyday tasks that build autonomy at home and in the community.
  5. Recreation and Leisure Skills: Adapted approaches that help campers participate fully in games, hobbies, and leisure activities.
  6. Self‑Determination: Opportunities to develop self‑confidence, set goals, self‑advocate, and understand their own needs.
  7. Career Education: Early exposure to the skills and knowledge needed to take on roles and responsibilities throughout life.
  8. Compensatory Access Skills: Strategies and tools that support learning and independence with a vision impairment.
  9. Access Technology: Exploration of technologies that enable young people with a vision impairment to achieve the same outcomes as their peers.

Each camp is tailored to the needs and interests of the participants, blending adventure with meaningful skill development. Previous camps have included rock climbing, escape rooms, high ropes courses, visits to Australia Zoo and Dream World, multi‑modal travel challenges, planning and shopping for groceries, cooking activities, and a guided exploration of Brisbane or the Gold Coast. Every activity is designed to strengthen independence, problem‑solving, social connection, and confidence in real‑world environments.

Our camps offer a supportive, age‑appropriate social setting where young people can challenge themselves, build friendships, and discover what they are capable of.
