Finding freedom through the NDIS

Before her NDIS plan, Sophie* rarely left the house by herself and relied on family members to assist her when she needed to go anywhere.

Today, she is somewhat of a social butterfly with festivals and markets to attend on weekends and weekly craft sessions to enjoy. Before her NDIS plan, Sophie was unable to afford or access these creative outlets, but with the support of Guide Dogs, she was able to set up a plan which included funding for these activities.

Now, thanks to her tailored plan, she gets to dedicate five hours each week to learning and creating.

The team attended the pre-planning and implementation with Sophie to ensure that she had support the whole way through. Her plan is now set up to suit her needs which included both the classes she wishes to attend and the public transport required to travel to and from them.
